I. Daily maintenance
Appearance cleaning: after the operation of the mini excavator is finished, the soil, dust and debris on the surface of the machine should be removed in a timely manner. Especially the dust around the radiator, generator and other parts, because this dust will affect the cooling effect. You can use water and neutral cleaning agent to clean, but be careful to avoid water entering sensitive parts such as electrical components.
Internal cleaning: Regularly clean the cab of dust and debris to keep the operating environment tidy. The air filter should also be checked and cleaned to prevent dust from getting inside the engine and affecting its performance.
2. Lubricant change: Change the engine lubricant, hydraulic oil, etc. regularly according to the manufacturer’s regulations. Different types of mini excavators may have different lubricant specifications and replacement intervals
3. Leakage check Hydraulic system check: Check the piping and joints of the hydraulic system frequently to see if there is any hydraulic oil leakage. Hydraulic oil leakage will not only lead to insufficient system pressure, affecting the excavation operation, but also may cause environmental pollution. If leakage is found, tighten the joints or replace the damaged seals in time.
II. Regular Maintenance
1. Filter element replacement Fuel filter element: the function of the fuel filter element is to filter impurities in the fuel and protect the engine.
2. Belt Inspection and Replacement Engine Belt: Check the tightness and wear of the engine belt. If the belt is too loose, it will cause the belt to slip and affect the power transmission of the engine; if the belt is badly worn, it may break and cause engine failure. The condition of the belt generally needs to be checked every 3,000 – 4,000 hours of operation and replaced as needed.
3. Battery Maintenance
Power check: check the battery power regularly to make sure it is in a fully charged state. If the excavator is not used for a long time, the battery should be removed and stored separately, and charged regularly to prevent the battery pole plate from sulphation. – Electrode check: check whether the electrode of the battery is corroded, if there is corrosion, clean up in time and apply petroleum jelly and other protective agents. Three long-term storage preparation
Cleaning and maintenance: If the mini excavator needs to be stored for a long time, it is necessary to carry out comprehensive cleaning and maintenance first. In addition to the above routine maintenance contents, the machine should also be treated with anti-rust treatment, such as applying anti-rust oil on the metal surface. – Fuel tank and hydraulic oil tank treatment: Empty the liquid in the fuel tank and hydraulic oil tank to avoid deterioration of fuel and hydraulic oil during long-term storage. For the hydraulic system, you can also consider injecting the right amount of anti-rust hydraulic oil to protect the internal parts of the hydraulic system.
2. Storage environment requirements Dry and ventilated: choose a dry, well-ventilated place to store the mini excavator to prevent the machine from rusting by moisture. Avoid storing the machine in high temperature, high humidity or direct sunlight.
Protective measures: If the conditions allow, you can use a rainproof cloth or cover to cover the machine to prevent dust and debris from falling into the machine inside, but also can play a certain role in anti-theft.
In short, the maintenance of small excavators needs to start from the daily details, focusing on cleaning, lubrication and leakage checking. Ensure that the equipment is in good condition by regularly changing the filter element, checking the belt and maintaining the battery. When storing for a long period of time, it is necessary to make adequate preparation and choose a suitable environment to protect the performance and prolong the service life of the mini excavator.
